Who doesn’t love this book? This book has so many functions to use with the children. It is a brilliant teaching resource to use in your literacy planning.
You can use it for onomatopeya, for creating patterns, for using repeating words, for the children to create their own bear hunt stories… And the great thing is that there are soo many teaching resources out there on this book!
We’ve been using We are going on a Bear hunt in our literacy planning with year 1. They absolutely love it, and it takes them no time to repeat the story over and over. We act it out, we write about it, we go on our own bear hunt around the school and make up our own sounds (onomatopeya), the children love it! and you will love teaching it because they love it!
We created this display panel with the different work that we’ve been doing using this teaching resource. We wrote our own bear hunt, we learnt about onomatopeya words, we painted our own bears and we also learnt about the different type of bears that we can find.
