This story book teaches the children about sharing and being kind, it’s a great book to use in your PSHCE lesson. The activity to do after reading and talking about the book is for the children to colour in or paint their own rainbow fish but leave one scale white to then stick glitter and make it shiny. These fish make a colourful and great display panel.

You will need templates of the letters of the alphabet, you can print them at sparklebox or find them around the web if you don’t have time to make them. The children then decorate their letters.

To make it more effective it’s a good idea to stick different materials on the letters.

Traditional Christmas Display Panel

IMG_1500

A traditional christmas scene for a display panel.

display panelThis is a great activity to do between different year groups. You can get each class to make something different for the display panel. The desert sand was made by sticking real sand on card. You can also add more things to the display panel or make things differently, the stars on the sky were made out of sugar and paper with the younger children. The children will all enjoy being a part of this huge display panel if you have the space for it. You can also then display children’s work on it. If you are in a religious school you can add the nativity scene to complete the whole display panel.

Make a big pirate ship out of thick cardboard, paint it with the children and add gold paint for the details. Make a cute child friendly pirate flag to put on the ship. Make the background of the display panel blue so it looks like the sea, add some tissue paper to make the waves and then put the children’s work on the display panel!

The children will love it and it won’t take you that long to make this pirate display panel!
